What is the CSC Scholarship and who qualifies?

The China Scholarship Council (CSC) scholarship is a prestigious fully-funded scholarship provided by the Chinese government. It covers tuition fees, accommodation, monthly stipend (CNY 2,500–3,500 for undergrad, CNY 3,000 for Master's, CNY 3,500 for PhD), and comprehensive medical insurance. Myanmar students aged 18–35 (Master's) or 18–40 (PhD) with a good academic record and no prior study in China are eligible to apply.
When is the CSC scholarship application deadline?

The general CSC scholarship window runs from December to April each year. For the 2026–2027 academic year, most deadlines fall between January and April 2026. However, some universities have earlier internal deadlines (as early as December). We recommend contacting us at least 3–4 months before the deadline to ensure adequate preparation time.
What documents are needed for a CSC application?

Required documents typically include: Completed CSC application form, Personal Statement / Study Plan, Notarized academic transcripts and diplomas, Two recommendation letters from professors, Physical examination form, Valid passport copy, Language proficiency certificates (HSK for Chinese-taught programs, IELTS/TOEFL for English-taught), and a recent passport photo. Do I need to know Chinese to apply?

Not necessarily. Many Chinese universities offer programs entirely in English, especially at postgraduate level. For Chinese-taught programs, you'll need to demonstrate Chinese proficiency through HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) scores.
